Common Reading committee to offer workshop on curricular applications

April 5, 2010

The Purdue Common Reading Program Committee, in cooperation with the Center for Instructional Excellence and Purdue Libraries, will present the workshop "Common Reading: Curricular Applications" from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday (April 7) in Room 322, Stewart Center.

The workshop is designed for faculty, staff, and graduate students, and refreshments will be served.

Participants will get ideas for integrating the 2010-11 Common Reading selection, Khaled Hosseini's "The Kite Runner," into classes or programs. They also will hear from faculty and staff who successfully and creatively integrated this year's Common Reading selection, "Stealing Buddha's Dinner," and will learn about and discuss key themes that could inspire potential uses of "The Kite Runner."

The workshop will be facilitated by Angelica Duran, associate professor in the Department of English and director of Religious Studies.
