Home Hospital emergency room to close and move in late February

February 10, 2010
West Lafayette campus employees and supervisors need to be aware of the upcoming closing of the Home Hospital Emergency Department. The hospital's emergency department will close at 11 p.m. Feb. 23 and move to the new St. Elizabeth East hospital.  The St. Elizabeth East Emergency Care Center, 1701 S. Creasy Lane in Lafayette, will open at 7 a.m. Feb. 25.

"If a worker's compensation situation requiring emergency room services occurs during the 32-hour transition period, employees will need to use the ER at St. Elizabeth Central on Hartford Street or the Clarian Arnett ER on McCarty Lane," said Deb Popa, return-to-work coordinator in Staff Benefits.

When the move is complete, Lafayette will have three full-service emergency facilities -- St. Elizabeth Central, St. Elizabeth East, and Clarian Arnett.
