Registration still open for 'Walk to the Moon'

More than 13,750,000 steps have been logged for Purdue's "Walk to the Moon" challenge since it began on Sunday. Registration for the event is open now -- and will continue after Healthy Planet ends Friday -- at Those currently participating are encouraged to log their steps at the same site. 

Members of the Purdue and local communities are being asked to track their steps or miles as they work together to accumulate the approximately 477,714,000 steps or 238,857 miles needed to travel from the Earth to the moon.  

Other forms of physical activity also count toward the goal. A conversion chart is available at the "Walk to the Moon" site.
