Winterization project ready to help those 55 or older, disabled

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Interfaith Engagement Coalition is looking for community members ages 55 and older or individuals with disabilities who need help winterizing their homes.This decade-old annual winterization effort is led by Wesley Foundation, and it is expected to involve 500 Purdue student volunteers who will serve more than 100 homes from 9 a.m. to noon on Nov. 5. The effort is part of a larger effort called "Stand Down" (http://www.nchv.org/page.cfm?id=122), which will be based at Central Presbyterian Church, 31 N. Seventh St. in Lafayette.
"Stand Down" launches the community's contribution to the White House Interfaith Initiative for Campus and Community. The Stand Down is also the kick-off event for Veteran Appreciation Week.
