Purdue Extension offers help in reporting winter storms

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – To assist news organizations in reporting winter storms and help the public to prepare for them, Purdue Extension has educational resources online at http://www.ag.purdue.edu/extension/eden/Pages/winter.aspx 

The link can be shared with the general public, such as in a sidebar box or other display device on the printed page or on a website.

The site includes information on preparing for a storm and what to do after a storm. Topics include:

* Staying safe around ice-covered trees.

* Snow blower safety.

* Using portable generators.

* Driving in a snowstorm.

All of the information on the website, including photos, is available for publication. Photo credit should be "Purdue Extension."
