Website offers Purdue presidential retrospective
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - A new website has been launched that details key events and initiatives that have taken place during Purdue University France A. Córdova's administration.
The site, which features a detailed breakdown of events by year, can be found at http://www.purdue.edu/president/highlights
Córdova, the first woman to lead Purdue, became the university's 11th president on July 16, 2007. She has overseen a strategic plan that emphasizes student success, research deliverables and global engagement. Under her leadership, Purdue has raised $1 billion in private gifts and has expanded the university's role as a top research institution on the global stage. Córdova has led Purdue to record levels of research funding, reputational rankings and student retention rates.
On Tuesday (April 24), Córdova presented her "Last Lecture," an event with students in which she reflected on her time at Purdue and took audience questions. The event was hosted by the Barbara Cook Chapter of Mortar Board, Purdue Student Government and Purdue Graduate Student Government.
An on-demand Windows Media archive of Córdova's talk is available at mms://video1.itap.purdue.edu/bns/General/Cordova120424.wmv
Viewers must have Windows Media Player, which can be downloaded from Microsoft at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-media-player. Macintosh users will need Windows Media Components for QuickTime, available at the same link.
