Purdue president search on track
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The search for Purdue's next president is on track with a timeline established by the university's Board of Trustees, said the chair of the search committee.
"We initially planned for February through April to be set aside to screen, interview and identify finalists, and that is where we are now," said Mike Berghoff, a Purdue trustee and chair of the search committee. "The committee is working to identify and interview the best qualified candidates and ultimately find the best person to lead Purdue as its 12th president."
Berghoff said that as part of the process, which was established last August, the committee's 13 members are now screening and conducting interviews with candidates. The committee's charge is to narrow the field to two to four candidates for consideration by the full Board of Trustees.
The current goal, he said, is to have a candidate selected and in place when President France A. Córdova completes her term on July 15.
The Purdue presidential search committee has a website at https://www.purdue.edu/presidentialsearch/ that its members are using to advertise the position and solicit nominations. The site also lists committee members and the position description.
