College of Pharmacy announces 2011 distinguished alumni and friend of pharmacy
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue University College of Pharmacy honored its 2011 distinguished alumni and friend of pharmacy on Nov. 4.
Distinguished alumni recipients are Jeffrey S. Hatfield, Judith Jacobi, Said M. Sebti and Robert J. Sepelyak.
*Hatfield is CEO of Vitae Pharmaceuticals in Fort Washington, Pa. He earned his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy in 1981.
*Jacobi is the critical-care pharmacy specialist in adult critical care units at IU Health, Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She received her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy in 1979.
*Sebti is the Manuel and Adeline Garcia Endowed Chair of the Department of Drug Discovery at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla. He earned his doctorate in medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology in 1984.
*Sepelyak is the project director of pharmaceutical development at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in Wilmington, Del. He earned his doctorate in industrial and physical pharmacy in 1982.
The college also recognized the contributions of Edward P. Sheridan as a friend of pharmacy. Sheridan is the residency program director, ambulatory pharmacy services director and family medicine residency program faculty member at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Northern Indiana.
