Webinar to look at outsourcing and the labor market
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University economics professor David Hummels will hold a web-based discussion, "Global Outsourcing and the Labor Market of the Future," on Wednesday (May 18).
During the webinar, participants will discuss how changes in technology and the rising use of global outsourcing have put increasing pressure on U.S. workers and managers. They will examine these pressures and present results from new research focused on which occupations are hurt the most by global competitions, which are largely insulated from these pressures and which actually benefit.
The webinar, from 1-2 p.m., is free and open to the public. For more information and to log in to the webinar, go to https://www.krannert.purdue.edu/faculty/webinar-hummels.asp
