'Bridge Builder' author to speak on international relations at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue University Department of History and Purdue University Press on Wednesday (March 7) will present Dr. Walther Kiep and his lecture, "Volkswagen, America, and the World: Why Every German Company is a Global Company."

The lecture will take place in Lawson Computer Science Building, Room 1142, at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Kiep’s lecture is based on his new book, "Bridge Builder," which is being released Tuesday (March 6). The book is published by Purdue University Press. “Bridge Builder” is Kiep’s autobiography covering his 60 years through post-war reconstruction and international diplomacy.

Kiep is a German business executive, politician and entrepreneur. He served on the Volkswagen advisory board for more than 20 years. Recently, he served as president of the European Business School. He now promotes exchanges among aspiring European, American and Chinese leaders through "Atlantic Bridge" and "Atlantic Forum."
