September 2, 2011

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University Student Government has organized "9/11/11 Never Forget" to begin at 3 p.m. Sept. 11 on the Purdue Mall.

"As current Purdue students, we were in elementary and middle school when the attacks occurred and have consequently become children of a nation at war," said Brianna Castle, PSG's director of local government relations. "We want to remember the people who died and suffered on that tragic day and also honor the brave men and women who continue to fight for our freedom."

Members of Purdue College Republicans and Democrats will place flags on the mall in memory of each person who lost his or her life in the attacks that day. West Lafayette Mayor John Dennis will be the keynote speaker.

Other groups involved include the University Religious Leaders, Reamers, Army and Navy ROTC, and Purdue Athletics.
