Purdue names 2010 Homecoming queen and king candidates

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University has announced the students who will serve on the 2010 Homecoming queen and king court.

The Homecoming court is selected through an extensive process that includes an interview by a panel of judges composed of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community leaders. The selection process is coordinated by the Purdue Student Union Board, which also coordinates the pep rally and the Boilermaker Night Train parade.

Student voting for the Homecoming king and queen will take place Oct. 5-12 on the Get Involved! website at https://www.getinvolved.purdue.edu/

Winners will be announced and crowned during the Oct. 13 pep rally at Slayter Hill, and they will be introduced during halftime of the Purdue-Minnesota football game on Oct. 16. The pep rally is taking place earlier this year than in past years.

The 2010 Homecoming court members are:

* Shelby Barrett, a senior studying public relations and advertising from Carmel, Ind.

* Audrie Koester, a senior studying agricultural communication from Wadesville, Ind.

* Chelsey Mann, a senior studying agricultural education and agricultural economics from Cloverdale, Ind.

* Christy Penner, a senior studying agricultural economics and agricultural communication from Manchester, Ind.

* Jackie Probst, a senior studying elementary education from Fishers, Ind.

* Sara Wagner, a senior studying mass communication from Indianapolis.

* Nick Kitchell, a senior studying management from Crown Point, Ind.

* Bhargav Kotadia, a junior studying economics from Bethesda, Md.

* Brandon Krozel, a senior studying English education from Wheaton, Ill.

* Andrew Phillips, a senior studying electrical engineering from Muncie, Ind.

* Nick Prichodko, a senior studying management from Carmel, Ind.

* Jacob Rape, a senior studying construction engineering management from Columbus, Ind.
