WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue Musical Organizations will present four public performances of the 76th annual Purdue Christmas Show “The Spirit of the Season” on Dec. 12-13

“This year’s show is different,” said Bill Griffel, Purdue Musical Organizations director. “We’re telling an original story with character dialogue between the musical numbers, which will help deliver a beautiful message. To help us tell our story, we’re bringing back the big screens, so there’s not a bad seat in the house.”

Campus and community performers in the show include members of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, Purduettes, Purdue Bells, Heart & Soul, All Campus & Community Chorale, the PMO Kids Choir and the reintroduced University Choir.

“More than ever, this year’s show will inspire, not just entertain,” said Jim Giberson, a senior member of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club.

Performances are scheduled for noon, 4 and 8 p.m. Dec. 12, and 2 p.m. Dec. 13 in Purdue’s Elliott Hall of Music. Tickets are $20 for students age 13 through college; $26 for adults; $24 for seniors age 65 and older; and $12 for children age 12 and under. For information or to order tickets, visit the Stewart Center, Pao Hall or Elliott Hall box offices or call 765-494-3933 or 800-914-7469. Tickets are also available through Ticketmaster.

Purdue Musical Organizations also will offer a special children's matinee at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 11. Children's tickets are $10 per student for groups of 49 or less; $8 per student for groups of 50-99; and $6 per student for groups of 100 or more. For this performance, teachers, chaperones and bus drivers will be admitted at no charge. For information about the school matinee, call Andrea Ridge at 765-494-3941 or 800-893-3041.
