Childcare center youngsters learn to be entrepreneurs
Aug. 6-10. Herman and Heddy Kurz Purdue Technology Center, 1281 Win Hentschel Blvd., West Lafayette. Youngsters ages 5-10 will learn to produce, price, advertise and sell items during the fifth annual Just Us Entrepreneurs program. The program is jointly offered by the Purdue Research Park and Just Us Kids Inc. childcare center. Participants will learn from community business leaders and Purdue Research Foundation experts, and make items for sale. Media are invited to take photos or video from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 9), when the handmade items are sold, and during the awards luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday (Aug. 10).

Purdue Technology Road Show to be held in Northwest Indiana
Aug. 21. 12:30-5 p.m. Purdue Technology Center of Northwest Indiana, 9800 Connecticut Drive, Crown Point. Purdue faculty, staff and students will present innovative technology developed through university research that is poised to be turned into products and services for the marketplace. Lunch will be provided, and Clean Energy Trust will make presentations. The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are requested.
