The LCC provides convenient hours for students, faculty/staff, etc. The facility and staff are available to provide resources and guidance. Staff members provide opportunities to meet individually by appointment or by walk-in availability. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the LCC's programs and facility services.

Spanish and Portuguese Conversation Tables

Conversation tables provide a fun and interactive opportunity to practice speaking and enhance listening skills with native Spanish speakers. Small groups provide personal attention and an intimate environment. Spanish Conversation tables meet Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Portuguese Conversation tables meet Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the fall and spring semesters of Purdue’s academic calendar.

Participants: Participants of all levels are welcome; however some basic level of Portuguese and Spanish is recommended. Weekly participation is not required, simply attend as your schedule allows. New participants are always encouraged to attend.

Volunteers: If you are a native Spanish or Portuguese speaker, love talking about where you are from, and want to work with people who really want to learn the language, please contact us at to volunteer. Tables are led by at least 2 volunteers. Weekly participation is not required.

CAPS at the LCC:

Staff members from Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) are available at the LCC every Tuesday during the fall and spring semesters. This is an opportunity for students to seek consultation around personal challenges, concerns, and/or questions that they may be dealing with. Please call the LCC at (765) 494-2530 to learn the times staff members are available for walk-in appointments.

Writing Lab at the LCC

Tutors from Purdue Writing Lab are available at the LCC every Tuesday during the fall and spring semesters. Tutors provide students with 30 minute sessions for writing needs, from brainstorming to final touches on papers.

LSC Lunch Series:

The Latino Student Council (LSC) Lunch Series is a weekly gathering organized by the members of the Latino Student Council. It is held every Wednesday during the fall and spring semester at the LCC. The LSC also provides opportunities for presenters that could provide opportunities to students and faculty/staff. This series provides an opportunity to learn about the various Latino-based student organizations and informally meet faculty, staff, community leaders, and Purdue alumni.

Student Employment:

The LCC hires students who are work-study eligible to provide clerical and staffing assistance. Tasks include greeting guests, providing tours and basic information about the LCC its programs and activities, answering phone, facility upkeep, etc. Please contact the LCC at (765) 494-2530 to learn about possible positions available.
