Indiana Campus Sexual Assault
Primary Prevention Project

Male Involvement

Because males commit the majority of sexual violence, they can be an influential group to help generate change. Male involvement programs request participation from male allies to help enhance the following areas:

  1. Messages that might resonate with men;
  2. Non-violent alternatives that can help re-define masculinity, and;
  3. Components of healthy relationships.

Male involvement groups also can serve as a support resource for victimized men. Males involved in sexual violence prevention can help reduce the silence among victimized men.
