Project Summary
The Indiana Campus Sexual Assault Prevention Project (INCSAPP) was established in July 1997. In keeping with the Healthy People 2010 Health Status Objectives, the primary goal of INCSAPP is to reduce the incidence of sexual assault and attempted sexual assault on all private and public college and university campuses in the State of Indiana.
INCSAPP Objectives:
- Provide and encourage opportunities for campus professionals and students to work together to prevent sexual assault.
- Provide current, useful, and valid information on campus sexual assault prevention.
- Provide mini-grant funding and other incentives to increase effective campus sexual assault prevention programs and initiatives in Indiana.
INCSAPP Activities for 2007-2008:
- Encourage campuses and their communities to collaborate through referrals to appropriate individuals, offices, and agencies.
- Maintain an e-mail distribution list to post questions and announcements and share information.
- Maintain a website on campus sexual assault prevention, including links to program resources, news & events, and policy/advocacy information.
- Advertise, award, and administer mini-grant funding for projects focusing on primary prevention, including the reinforcement of positive norms for healthy relationships through social marketing, the prevention of substance-facilitated sexual assault through risk reduction, and the intervention of bystanders through education.
- Provide technical assistance for comprehensive programming evaluation.
- Analyze collected data and report findings on campus sexual assault policies in Indiana.
- Inform campuses of best practices in campus sexual violence prevention.
- Provide passive programming tools and resources (e.g. bulletin board kits, posters).
