"The Global University" Convocation The Inauguration of France A. Córdova Faculty Symposia April 11 marked the official inauguration of France A. Córdova as president of Purdue University. The ceremony was held in Elliott Hall of Music. Watch the video. Inaugural events commenced on April 9 and concluded on April 13. The week’s activities brought into focus the concept of the global university with a convocation featuring leaders in academia and government from around the world. President Córdova also shared during the inaugural address her vision for the future of Purdue University. An internationally recognized astrophysicist, Dr. Córdova previously served from 2002 to 2007 as chancellor at the University of California (UC) Riverside, where she also was Distinguished Professor of Physics and Astronomy. |
