Dean of the Graduate School (001979-2008)

Purdue University invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the Graduate School.  This senior academic officer is charged with advancing the preeminence of Purdue’s system wide Graduate School.

Responsibilities:  The dean of the Graduate School has significant opportunities to enhance the diversity of the University.  Purdue’s next dean of the Graduate School will also promote partnerships and collaborations within the University, especially with the office of the vice president for research, to support and steward the research experiences of graduate students.  The dean will promote Purdue graduate programs nationally and internationally.

Qualifications:  The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree with academic credentials for appointment to the rank of Full Professor; a nationally recognized record of scholarship/research; achievement in developing and managing academic programs and fellowships; success in mentoring graduate students; experience in personnel and fiscal management, including development activities; a vision and passion for the masters and doctoral experiences, and the skill to engage and facilitate interpersonal and public communication with a variety of audiences.
