Requirements: The P-12 Engagement Center will be a highly visible portal to P-12 outreach initiatives on campus and serve to meet rapidly evolving education needs in Indiana and beyond. The Associate Vice Provost P-12 Engagement will be involved in the creation and launch of this center, including establishing a vision and setting priorities for Purdue’s P-12 engagement agenda. The Center will be expected to help transform educational research into innovative partnerships and effective practices in P-12 communities. The Associate Vice Provost and Executive Director will have a faculty appointment in an appropriate academic program in the College of Education.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a Ph.D., the academic credentials for appointment to the rank of Professor, and preferably work experience that demonstrates the following: creative and visionary leadership, and a passion for work in P-12 education; successful collaborations with a wide variety of stakeholders, including those in P-12 education as well as those in higher education; experience working with interdisciplinary discovery, learning, and/or engagement projects; a successful record of scholarship and funded program of research; and excellent communication and public relations skills.

Requirements: The successful candidate will have expertise in program evaluation, classical and modern test theories, and multivariate statistical analysis, SAS, and in some specific area in quantitative/psychometric methods, such as longitudinal designs, skills diagnosis, or large-scale assessment.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate in education, psychology, or statistics in the area of measurement and quantitative research methods.

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction within the School of Education at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana is seeking an individual for the position of Clinical Instructor in the Purdue Literacy Network Project. Projected start date for this position is August 13, 2007.
Requirements: Develop and monitor the structure and content of the Purdue Literacy Network (PLN) initiative in collaboration with PLN team. Conduct PLN literacy coordinator training and team planning sessions. Develop and conduct professional development sessions in partnership with schools and districts to foster educational reform. Participating in inquiry efforts and disseminate results and ongoing findings to foster awareness and provide evidence and documentation of program value. Participate in partnership and leadership activities with local, state, and national entities.
Qualifications: Expertise in K-12 reading and language arts to teach relevant courses within the Purdue Literacy Network Project’s professional development initiative. Experience in Literacy Collaborative literacy coordinator training, elementary and/or middle school classroom instruction, adult professional development, and/or teaching education is required. In addition, proven or demonstrated potential for leadership in program implementation is strongly desired. The applicant must have strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated organizational abilities and creative thinking skills. A master’s degree in education is required.

Professor in Applied Measurement/Educational Research Methodology

The College of Education Department of Educational Studies invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor in Applied Measurement and/or Educational Research Methodology.
Requirements: Applicants at the Associate Professor level must have a proven record of publication, extramural funding, and cross-disciplinary collaborations. Candidates will have the opportunity to have formal affiliations with several Purdue units, including the Purdue University Psychometric Instruction Laboratory (PUPIL), Discovery Learning Center (DLC), Assessment Research Center (ARC), and Center for Research and Engagement in Science and Math Education (CRESME).
This is a 10-month tenure track position primarily in the Department of Educational Studies. Starting date will be August 13, 2007. Responsibilities include:
- Developing funded research and engagement projects.
- Developing/maintaining a research program and disseminating results and ongoing findings via publications and presentations to local, state, national, and international education agencies and professional organizations.
- Providing methodological research support across the College and University.
- Teaching introductory and advanced evaluation methods courses in the Educational Psychology/Measurement Programs.
- Recruiting and advising graduate students, contributing to the graduate program.
- Participating in collaborative and leadership activities with local, state, national, and international entities.
- Working on initiatives as part of the Discovery Learning Center on campus.
Qualifications: The Department of Educational Studies invites applications for a position in applied measurement/educational research methodology as part of the College of Education’s strategic focus on interfacing with the Discovery Learning Center (DLC) and participating in campus-wide initiatives in science, math, technology and engineering education (see http://www.education.purdue.edu/about/strategic_plan.html). We are interested in candidates with expertise in statistics and/or educational research methods, and an emphasis on program evaluation and assessment. We prefer candidates with a background and focus that balances quantitative and qualitative approaches in program evaluation research. We will also look favorable on candidates with expertise in multivariate statistical analysis, longitudinal designs, or mixed methods designs. At the time of hire, the applicants should hold a doctorate in Educational Psychology, Educational Research Methods, Measurement/Psychometrics, Psychology, Statistics, or a related field.

A specialty area in sociology, anthropology, migration and immigration studies, policy studies, or global education is also desirable. Requirements: Primary responsibilities are (a) to provide instruction in introductory educational psychology and/or special education courses and (b) to coordinate the field experiences and recitation sections for the learning and motivation/inclusive classroom block of the undergraduate teacher education program.
Essential Duties:
- Teach EDPS 235 Learning and Motivation and/or EDPS 265 Inclusive Classroom.
- Coordinate all teacher education Block II instructional activity, field experiences, and recitation sections.
- Coordinate conduct of Block II candidate assessment.
Qualifications: Applicants should hold a doctorate in educational psychology, special education, or other discipline directly related to teacher education.
Essential Qualities:
- Doctorate in educational psychology or special education.
- Ability to teach undergraduate courses in learning and motivation and/or inclusive classrooms.
- Ability to manage a large instructional staff.
