Asst/Assoc Professor of Selling and Sales Management (002027-2008)

The Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing of Purdue University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Selling and Sales management (tenure track).
Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate courses in selling and sales management, teaching and developing additional graduate level courses, conducting and publishing quality research, supervising master and doctoral students, serving on department, college, and university committees, and collaborating with faculty across the University to build unique and innovative discovery and learning opportunities.
Qualifications: Applicants should have an earned doctorate in marketing, selling and sales management, or related field. Background in selling, negotiation, team building, organizational communication, persuasion, oral interpretation, and/or presentation skills highly desirable. Potential for research excellence highly important. Previous teaching experience desirable. Industry experience a plus.

The Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing (CSR) at Purdue University is seeking a Department Head to provide leadership for a multi-talented and diverse group of faculty and professionals. The salary and rank are commensurate with experience and qualifications. The department head appointment is a twelve-month position. The preferred start date is July 1, 2008.
Qualifications: The candidate must have an earned doctorate, and a distinguished record of significant research, scholarly accomplishments, professional service, and teaching. The candidate should show a demonstrated record of effective leadership. The candidate must currently hold the rank of full professor and/or have the credentials appropriate for a rank of full professor at Purdue University. In keeping with the strategic goals of the university, the college, and the department, the candidate must show willingness to support the increasing need for effective corporate and alumni development.

The College of Consumer and Family Sciences is searching for and Associate Dean for Diversity and International Programs from within the college. This is a 0.25-0.50 FTE position which has primary responsibility for leadership in diversity and international programs in the college and serves as the liaison with departmental and university programs and staff in these areas. The overall goals of the position are to develop and grow discovery, learning and engagement programs that enhance the climate in and diversity of the college, and build awareness of cultural and global differences for students, faculty, and staff. The associate dean works closely with faculty and staff to meet these objectives. Duties include developing and promoting internal and external support for programs and working with the Office of the Vice President for Human Relations and the Office of the Dean of International Programs. Other responsibilities include representing the college on university-level committees, implementation of special projects within CFS and other duties as assigned. The associate dean also represents the dean at certain University functions.
Qualifications: It is preferable that candidates for this position will have attained the rank of professor in the College of Consumer and Family Sciences. Advance associate professors who are near promotion will also be considered. Successful candidates must have an interest in and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and international programs, along with developing leadership and administrative skills in higher education.

Assistant/Associate Professor, College of Consumer and Family Sciences, Department of Foods and Nutrition, Purdue University
Requirements: The successful candidate will plan, direct, maintain, and evaluate the Coordinated Program in Dietetics (CPD) to meet Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) requirements and conduct an independent and/or collaborative research program. S/he will teach CPD courses including managing supervised practice in multiple facilities and maintain professional profile of activities related to research agenda and the CPD while maintaining an active publication record in peer reviewed journals. Departmental/School/University activities include recruitment, advising and outreach as well as other committees assigned and/or elected.
Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Nutrition or related field and R.D. credential required. Evidence of a well developed independent and/or collaborative research program in an area which fits within the signature research areas of the department. Experience and competence in college level teaching, dietetics and postdoctoral research experience are desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills should be demonstrated.

The Department of Child Development and Family Studies at Purdue University invites applications for multiple tenured or tenure-track positions at the assistant or associate professor level with specialization in family studies starting August 2007. We are particularly interested in building on our strengths in families and health (including mental health), work and family, family policy, and related areas. We seek candidates whose research and teaching in the area of family studies will make a substantive contribution to the department of Child Development & Family Studies at Purdue. Requirements: The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating, conducting, and publishing research, including seeking internal and external funding; teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; and participating in service and outreach activities.

Applicants are sought for a tenure-track research/teaching position at the assistant, associate or full professor level at Purdue University. It will be a joint position in the Departments of Food and Nutrition (primary) and either Food Science or Psychology (secondary). The successful candidate is expected to establish a research program related to sensory, metabolic or neural signals related to feeding. Preference will be given to applicants with interests and expertise in one of the following areas: energy balance, metabolism, fitness; bone health; or botanicals. An emphasis in the former area is
particularly
desired because of a recent University-based emphasis on cluster hires in obesity research and newly established Ingestive Behavior Research Center (IBRC). Collaborations with faculty in existing strong program areas of appetite, chemosensory function, energy balance, neurobiology, behavior, bioactive peptides and/or functional foods is expected.
Requirements: Establish a research program related to sensory, metabolic or neural signals related to feeding.
Qualifications: Include a record of scholarly activity as evidenced by publications and successful grantsmanship. Ph.D required.
