HR/Financial Zone - Technical Coordinator Expectations
As a Technical Coordinator, you act as the liaison between your department and HR/Financial Zone. Your departmental business knowledge along with your knowledge of HR/Financial Zone product and service offerings are a valuable asset in ensuring your department's business needs are met.
The following are responsibilities you will incur with this role:
- Primary communicator of desktop computing related technical policies and procedures to your department and/or areas that you represent. This includes sharing HR/Financial Zone communications with departmental staff that would benefit from them and notifying your staff about projects and other initiatives you learn by attending the Zone Computing Advisory committee meetings.
- If you are aware of new and upcoming technical projects in your department and/or areas that you represent, please share the information with the appropriate Manager of Human Resource Operations or the Business Services Computing Special Projects Manager. Also, please communicate issues or concerns with the HR/Financial Zone Manager as they arise.
- Request computer and hardware moves. After the business need for the request is approved, full requirements including connectivity needs, computer numbers, customer names, locations and preferred timing should be submitted with the request. Technical Coordinators must update HR/Financial Zone staff regarding employee changes or staff members changing offices.
- Assist with desktop support related projects in your department and/or areas that you represent. An example would be replacement of computers at the end of their lifecycle.
- Explain HR/Financial Zone procedures and expected time for completion of your requests to staff that you represent.
- It is recommended that you identify a back-up departmental coordinator who can attend meetings and work with HR/Financial Zone when you are absent. If a backup is not identified, the department head will be responsible for coordinating business needs in your absence.
- Be familiar with the HR/Financial Zone processes that are the responsibility of the Department Head of the departments that you represent, and provide assistance to the Department Heads as necessary.
