I am having trouble printing documents from Word or IE...

If you have experienced problems printing documents from Word or Internet Explorer and are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • your printers have disappeared
  • you received an error message stating that the process has already exited
  • you receive a printout that a stack overflow has occurred
  • only a portion of your document printed and the rest was garbage
  • your application crashed

These symptoms often occur if you have cut information from the web and pasted it into a word document or if you have created a hyperlink within a document.

It appears that this problem is only present in the HP LaserJet 4100s, 4600s, and 8150s.  The problem occurs when a particular font (Arial Unicode) is introduced into the document.  You may not have selected this font but is sometimes automatically introduced into the document during development.  There is a workaround.  To remove the font, select ALL of the document and change the font to Times New Roman, or even regular Arial, and the document should print successfully.
