HEALTHY LIVING

Ready to quit? We’re here to help.

Is it time to break your tobacco habit? Are you ready to say so long to the tobacco-user additional premium that’s coming out of your paycheck?

Then sign up for the “Living Tobacco Free” series through the Center for Healthy Living. You’ll learn tips and techniques to prepare you to stop using tobacco. The center’s health coaches will lead the series, placing special focus on:

  • Changing behavior
  • Overcoming withdrawal and cravings
  • Coping with stress
  • Managing weight
  • Preventing relapses

You and your fellow participants will meet each Wednesday from noon – 12:50 p.m., July 9 through Aug. 13. Everyone who successfully completes the series will be eligible for a waiver of the tobacco-user additional premium. The waiver will apply to all Purdue pay you receive in 2014, beginning Oct. 1.

Healthier and wealthier – now that’s a good return on your time and effort.

The series is open at no charge to all benefits-eligible Purdue employees, even those who don’t participate in a Purdue medical plan. Spouses and same-sex domestic partners who are covered by a Purdue medical plan are also eligible to join the program.

To register, call Millie Fenneman, practice administrator, at 49-45505 by July 7.
