I have a new set of luggage, I am painting the walls, have ordered a new sofa, chair and loveseat, I have bought a “good” perfume … did I hit the lottery? No … better. I participated in WorkLife Programs’ Freedom From Smoking! The opportunity was right here on campus, free of charge, and I could attend on my lunch hour. Even doubting success, (I had tried on my own with the patch) I could find no legitimate excuse not to give this program a try.
The class facilitator was truly a “cheerleader” who guided us, listened to us, NEVER chastised us, someone to share the journey with. Someone who could anticipate our needs, ask the right questions, and make us look inward. I have now been smoke free for over a year! I feel better, I smell better and I look better. I have more energy. Those are the obvious benefits. But one I did not expect … I have more confidence in myself, I like myself better, and I feel I can tackle anything now!
