- Handling Workplace Pressures: Identify key sources of on-the-job stress. Assess stress signals and tension-causing triggers while learning effective coping skills in the workplace. Become familiar with the “Take 5!” skills for managing work-related pressures.
- Clarifying Roles & Expectations: For many, the expectations of their supervisor and colleagues, plus their own internal expectations of themselves, are unclear and conflicting. Examine contradictory expectations that may be causing excess job distress.
- Controlling the Workload: Too much work, too little control, too many deadlines, and too many conflicting demands. Evaluate how the sheer volume of your workload causes stress and take control with new skills in prioritizing tasks and time management.
- Managing People Pressures: Working with others can be rewarding. However, conflicts with colleagues, supervisors, subordinates, and customers can push one to the edge. Assess the cause of “people pressures” on the job while learning positive techniques to tackle interpersonal conflict.
- Surviving the Changing Workplace: Change is inevitable, but often unwelcome. Discover some valuable coping skills and a new perspective to thrive and survive the stress associated with new work and life adjustments.
