Patnarin (Oh) Benyathiar

Oh Benyathiar is a PhD food packaging engineer with more than four years’ professional experience in complex global food companies. She is an expert in packaging innovation, package performance testing, food and packaging quality, aseptic packaging sterilization, active packaging, smart/intelligent packaging food safety, sustainability and packaging technology to prolong the product shelf life. Oh has extensive experience in research and manufacturing environments for experimental design, bench development, pilot, commercialization and team leadership.

Aparna Desai

Aparna Desai holds a master’s degree in plant genetics and molecular biology from the University of Georgia. She has more than 8 years of work experience in genetics and molecular biology and has worked in labs at universities and in industry. She has a broad knowledge base in various plant sciences and is proficient in various molecular biology and biochemistry techniques like DNA extractions; PCRs; qPCRs; Southerns, Northerns and Westerns; protein purification; electrophoresis; QTL; and sequence analysis. Aparna is seeking research/education jobs in molecular biology and/or plant sciences.

James Lefort

James Lefort has more than 13 years of quality management experience in the agri-food business sector with a master’s degree in plant science and food science. He is certified in the administration of several GFSI/food safety standards including FSSC (ISO) 22000, SQF, and GlobalGAP. In addition, he is an experienced external/internal auditor and has facilitating experience in lean management methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, 5-S, and 5-Why. Maria Murgia

Maria V Murgia earned a PhD in virology/infectious diseases at The Ohio State University and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Kansas State University. She has more than 13 years of experience in virology techniques, molecular biology techniques, animal experimental infections and diagnostic assays development. Additionally, she has multiple certifications to work under Biosafety level 3 laboratories. She is currently working with high consequences infectious diseases. Jake Lambert

Jake Lambert has 12 years of experience as a graphic designer for companies such as Stanley Tools, Bosch Tools and Horizon Hobby. The majority of his experience has been working in the engineering departments for these companies as a technical illustrator/writer, creating instruction manuals for their products. He also has 10 years of experience managing teams of graphic designers and technical writers. His management responsibilities included hiring; creating design standards and manual production processes; and coordinating with product developers, engineers, marketing department, compliance department, language translators and overseas factory managers to meet production deadlines. Jake has a bachelor of arts with an emphasis in graphic design. He is seeking a technical illustration/graphic design position which can include technical writing and management duties.

She’s currently an operations program manager for Google Play, where she drives cross-functional preparation for upcoming launches. During Angela’s time at Google, she has also gained experience with product development, launch management, vendor operations and partnerships—including large corporations (Weight Watchers, Sephora, Rosetta Stone) as well as nonprofits (Taproot, Coursera, Get Schooled).

Yunjeong Hong

Yun Jeong Hong was born in South Korea and received her bachelor of fine arts from Seoul Women's University in 2005 and her master’s of fine arts from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2010. Her works involve writing, drawing, sculpture, installation, video and performance. Yun Jeong’s works have been shown internationally and included in several exhibitions. Apart from her studio practice, Yun Jeong curated an exhibition “Nomadic Fantasia-Indra's net (2011)” in Champaign, Illinois, of over five artists working on body and mind tracking as their research. In addition, she participated in an international artist symposium in Austria (2012) and Artist Residency of Center for Research and Creativity Casamarles (2011) in Spain. From 2014, Yun Jeong has served the Washington, DC art community as a member of the Artist Advisory Council. During 2015, Yun Jeong supervised a graduate student of curatorial practice at the Maryland Institute College of Art and designed two exhibitions related to homelessness in Baltimore and Rockville.

Sallie Spencer

Maggie Hao

Maggie Hao is currently working as a full-time secretary at Purdue. She has been serving in this role for almost two years. Maggie obtained her M.S. in 2006 with a minor in statistics. At her current job, she received a Bravo Award and has been nominated for additional awards within the College of Engineering. Maggie has strong administrative support experience along with data collection and analysis. She is seeking a part-time support staff position within Purdue University.

Qi Li

Qi Li is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at State University of New York, Buffalo. She received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Xidian University and a master’s degree in statistics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Qi is broadly interested in data management with a focus on data mining and machine learning, especially in data aggregation and data quality analysis for truth discovery and crowdsourcing.

She worked as a software engineer, using C++ and other programming tools to develop commercial security surveillance system, and as an instrument engineer of a NASA contractor company, designing the calibrating algorism and analyzing the data acquired by satellites. She also developed the website for Center of Religion and Chinese Society of Purdue University. Since 2010, she has been working as an adjunct faculty in School of Computing and Informatics at Ivy Tech Community College, teaching various levels of courses and labs, from introductory to intermediate levels, such as Software Development Using C++, Computer Math & Logic, Introduction to Software Development using Visual Basic, Informatics Fundamentals, and Introduction to Microcomputers, Linux Fundamentals and Java programming (Substitute). She is seeking a lecturer position at Purdue using her engineering and IT expertise.

Rodrigo Ferraz de Andrade

Rodrigo Ferraz de Andrade has more than six years of experience in teaching undergraduate level courses at Purdue University. He has a Master’s degree in mathematics from University of Sao Paulo (Brazil), and will soon earn a PhD in mathematics from Purdue University. Reiko Ileleji

Reiko Ileleji, Ph.D., has more than 10 years of teaching experiences in diverse school settings, including at United States universities and K-12 schools, as well as homeschooling and after school/weekend educational school programs in and outside of the United States. She is seeking a position where she can serve using her past teaching experiences as well as opportunities to participate in research to better our educational environments, such as faculty, instructional staff, post-doctoral research fellow (part-time or full-time) in education and/or liberal arts departments with regards to teaching and research.

Sarah Jacoba

Sarah Jacoba recently completed her PhD at Queen’s University. She has more than five years of experience as a university instructor, working with students from diverse backgrounds, most recently at Purdue University. She has also worked for student success programs at Queen’s and Oxford Learning Center. Sarah is seeking a position in instruction, program creation and coordination, student success or administration that would allow her to work closely with students, helping them share their academic and professional development.

Hye-Seung (Theresa) Kang

Hye-Seung (Theresa) Kang earned her Ph.D. in Human Resource Development in 2011. She has 17 years of professional experience in cross-cultural business and academic settings, where she has proven to be a successful manager, team developer and executive program director. She is a confident researcher, having presented and published several papers in major conferences and journals. Theresa is also an experienced and highly regarded educator. Dr. Kang is a multi-lingual and considerate communicator with an open mind. She looks forward to finding a great “fit” in the Greater Lafayette region where she can apply her research and management skills and international insights.

Huai-Rhin Kim

Huai-Rhin Kim received a doctorate in speech and hearing science, a master’s in teaching English as an international language and a bachelor’s in linguistics, all from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She also received a Brain Korea (BK) 21 Plus postdoctoral research fellowship funded by the Ministry of Education in Korea. She has five years of teaching and research experience during her doctoral studies and her stay in Korea as a BK 21 Plus fellow. She has also worked as the director of a preschool and day care in Victoria. Huai-Rhin is seeking a position where she can teach and research in areas of bilingualism, bilingual language development for children with and without special needs and assessment for children with diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Jing Wang

Jing Wang has been a J.L. Doob assistant professor in the department of mathematics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since August 2015. She was previously a postdoc fellow at the Institute for Mathematics and IT Applications, University of Minnesota after earning her PhD in mathematics from Purdue University in May 2014. She also earned her master’s in computational finance from Purdue University in May 2013. Her research is in the intersection of fields of probability and differential geometry. Jing Wang has taught finance courses at UIUC’s actuarial science program. She is seeking a tenure-track position where she can focus her research while keeping a good balance of teaching.

Jiang Yang

Jiang Yang has a doctorate in cellular, molecular and developmental biology from Tufts University. Jiang has more than 16 years of experience in biomedical research on cardiovascular diseases and cancer. She is seeking a position where she can pursue her research interest in cancer biology and therapeutics or apply her knowledge in cardiovascular biology and cancer biology and technical expertise in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry and disease-associated animal models.
