In addition to the job description and the performance standards you establish for your employees, other tools can help them do their jobs.

  What supervisors can do to address stress in the workplace

Based on an eight-hour workday, most employees spend at least one-third of their daily waking hours trying to earn a living. Traditionally, it was assumed that driving employees harder made them more productive, which, in turn, influenced the bottom line of the organization. We now know that this is just not true.

  Avoid making impossible promises

As a supervisor, you no doubt understand that part of your role is to give your employees the tools they need to do their work and to keep them motivated. You probably also have your own work-related goals, and to accomplish them, it is important to have your staff look up to you.
