Purdue Temporary Staffing

Human Resource Services has made the difficult decision to discontinue the Purdue Temporary Staffing (PTS) service as of March 4, 2007. This decision results from the need to reallocate our current PTS staff to cover high-priority initiatives in Human Resource Services.

To assist departments that have PTS employees currently on assignment, we will provide payroll services through the end of Pay Period 61 (February 19 - March 4). At that time, all assigned PTS employees will be converted to departmental temporaries. HRS will prepare the needed paperwork for the conversion, and we will contact affected departments shortly with more details.

We will offer limited service for filling temporary staffing needs that arise between now and the service ending date of March 4. We have had increasing difficulty finding qualified candidates to meet your temporary needs, and, at this point, we have a limited number of qualified candidates available. If we have an applicant with suitable skills for your request, we will refer the applicant; however, it’s very possible we will not be able to meet all needs.

To assist you in filling your temporary staffing needs, we have gathered contact information for local temporary staffing agencies. You may begin using these agencies immediately. If you know who you would like to hire for your temporary position, you may forego contacting the agencies and instead use the departmental temporary process. Please either call your compensation analyst or view the Temporary Position Request Form for further information on how to request a departmental temporary position.

We regret any inconvenience this change may cause for departments that have relied on PTS, and we thank you for your understanding. If you have questions or concerns, please call 49-47410.
