  The holiday season is in full swing: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and the New Year are just some of the major holidays that Americans will soon be celebrating in the company of their loved ones.

• New employees must enroll to have Purdue medical coverage in 2012

  If the new employees you hire in 2012 want Purdue medical insurance, be sure they sign up during their initial 30-day enrollment period. Those who don’t enroll will default to a benefits package with no medical coverage.

• Myers-Briggs Type Indicator identifies valuable differences within your workgroup

  Human Resources has several certified facilitators to lead individuals or your group through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality inventory. The MBTI is designed to identify valuable differences between people. These differences can be the source of positive communication and teamwork, as well as miscommunication and misunderstanding.

• Leaves can be requested and approved online through automated leave application

  Beginning in April 2011, an automated, online leave application was successfully tested through pilot programs in the ITaP, Vice President for Human Resources and Comptroller areas.
