- Employee Assistance Program: A valuable supervisor resource
Purdue's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) exists to help University employees. It is a helpful tool for supervisors to use to assist their employees with a variety of situations. - When personal issues affect employee performance:
An Employee Relations case study
Karen Smith has been employed in your department for six years. During her tenure she has been a valuable employee, although during the past two years you?ve observed a drop in her work performance due to tardiness and absenteeism. The whole department is aware that Karen is facing many problems at home, and her co-workers have covered for her and even completed work for her when necessary, but they are beginning to complain. - Pay during adverse weather
During periods of adverse weather conditions, the normal operations of the University may be modified or curtailed. Under severe conditions, either a snow recess or a severe weather emergency may be declared for the West Lafayette Campus, and special policies and procedures dealing with parking, pay, and/or attendance will become effective.
