As a supervisor, you can help your staff by informing and encouraging them to participate in some of the campus resources available. Group sessions and one-on-one services are available to all employees. - Making pay decisions in light of the Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2007
In a recent communication about the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, Purdue's Office of Institutional Equity advised all departments to document reasons for all decisions affecting employees' compensation, and to keep the documentation for an indeterminate period of time. In addition, it was indicated that all administrators and supervisors need to be able to explain their compensation decisions individually and as they relate to groups of "similarly situated" employees. - West Lafayette campus implements new smoking policy
A revised policy on smoking, Smoke Free West Lafayette Campus (I.4.2), went into effect on July 1, 2010. What significance does this have for you as a supervisor? Quite possibly you may not be personally affected; however, if you supervise employees who smoke, this may have an effect on your workforce. - Worker's comp form updated, simplified
The First Report of Injury Form has been revised, and the Purdue ID is no longer needed. The new version of the form asks for the employee's department number and date of hire.
