Support participation in CIGNA's online health assessmentHealthy Planet 2010 was created to promote healthy and balanced lifestyles for the campus community. A healthy culture affects the University's health care costs and can help individuals save on their own medical expenses. In addition, it impacts employee well being, morale, and productivity. You can show your support for Healthy Planet and a healthy culture by encouraging your employees to complete a health assessment. Available online at myCIGNA.com, the health assessment provides a detailed picture of an employee's current health status, as well as suggestions for improving and maintaining health. This Web site and online health assessment are available to employees and their spouses/same-sex domestic partners who have health insurance with Purdue. Those who have opted out of Purdue medical plans don't have access to this Web site. To take the health assessment, employees can go to the Choose Well, Live Well Web site and click the button that says "Take my health assessment now." Supervisors: What can you do? Your role as supervisor is an important one. Employees look to you as a role model. To actively encourage employee participation in the health assessment, consider these suggestions.
An FYI to supervisors: The online registration process takes the most time! There are two registration processes on the myCIGNA.com Web site, but you can use the same user ID and password for each. The first registration establishes your myCIGNA account. The second one gets you to the "wellness center" section for the health assessment. Here are some printable resources to share with your employees:
