Healthy Purdue: Support employees as they earn apples |
|
|
Healthy Purdue promotes employee health and productivity. Working toward completing the apples offers opportunities for our employees to focus on their health and take part in activities that help them be healthier and more productive at work, which benefits not only the employee and supervisor, but the University as a whole. Lending support to employees is simple. Supervisors can encourage employees to take part in online health awareness presentations, which qualify for a red apple. To get credit for viewing the presentation, participants must take the corresponding quiz. During June, July, and August, WorkLife Programs is available to give presentations to faculty/staff in their department or area. To request a presentation, visit the WorkLife home page and fill out the Speaker Request Form. We encourage supervisors to work with employees to help with scheduling and staffing so participants can attend presentations or programs that give them credit for apples. Making arrangements to stagger staffing or alternate work coverage are helpful ways to make it possible for employees to take part. In addition to a greater awareness of their personal health and wellness, employees who complete five apples by November 7 will receive $250 before taxes, credited to their paycheck in early 2009. Supervisors can show employees that Purdue’s interest in employee health has tangible rewards.
