The Shared Service Center: Here to help

The mission of the Shared Service Center is to review, process, and audit all personnel actions, including employment eligibility, for compliance with University policies and procedures to facilitate the timely and accurate processing of payroll and appointment actions.

Supervisors can help ensure their employees receive timely and accurate payment by using the following tips.

Leave form changes

In October, the Form 33F (Request for Sabbatical, Research, Outside Activity or Change in Duty Station) was replaced with the Request and Leave Action Form. With this change, information previously collected on two forms was consolidated into a single form for Research, Sabbatical Leave and Outside Activity or Change in Duty. Please remember to fill out the Request and Leave Action Form completely to expedite approval and processing.

Direct deposit

Please remind employees that they can set up direct deposits by using Employee Self Service (ESS) or by completing the Direct Deposit Form.
When using the Direct Deposit Form, remind employees to do the following:

  • Complete the form in ink, writing clearly and legibly. Provide all of the requested information.
  • Attach a voided check to ensure accurate account information is provided.
  • Sign the form.

Technology allowances

As a reminder, in January 2008, the University implemented new Electronic Device and Service Guidelines that established a technology allowance as the primary method for staff to use electronic devices and services.

Detailed information pertaining to the Technology Allowance (i.e., guidelines, FAQs, and forms) can be found online.
