reduction-in-workforce candidates

Reduction in workforce (RIF), or layoff, is never a term anyone wants
to hear. It is heard most frequently at the University when the funds for a position are exhausted. RIF can also happen because of a lack of work or through a department, school, or college reorganization -- all reasons outside the employee?s control.
 

 

  Sharing medical information

In our fast-paced, technologically-advanced world, it is easier than ever to share information with others. Most people are only a click away via e-mail. When someone on our staff is sick or injured and needs to be off work for a period of time, we feel we want to keep people informed of the person?s progress. Frequently we use e-mail to communicate the message.
 

  Depression in the workplace

According to the World Health Organization, depression is the number one cause of disability in the United States. One employee in five is either currently depressed, has been depressed, or will be at some point.
 

  Staying civil at work

While being civil in the workplace doesn't sound hard, it's much harder than most people think.  In fact, according to Beverly Sypher, it's rocket science.
