Human Resources won a CUPA-HR Midwest Institutional Award of Excellence in 2007 for taking a positive step toward improving employee health through the Healthy Purdue program.
Best Practices Awards
Human Resources has won several recent Midwest Best Practices Awards from the College and University Professional Association - HR. The Best Practices Award honors an individual or team that "demonstrates creativity, process improvements, excellence or professional achievements within a functional area of human resources."
In 2004, Human Resources won two awards:
The Housing and Food Services Human Resources team received a best practices award for developing a placement plan for employees who stood to lose their jobs after a departmental reorganization.
Staff Benefits was recognized for the creation of a "Return to Work" program designed to curb worker's compensation costs.
Human Resources won two awards in 2002:
Staff in the Housing and Food Services Human Resources Office were recognized for developing a cultural program that includes instruction in English as a second language and cross-cultural communication in the workplace.
Staff Benefits and Human Resources Communication were honored for communication efforts related to the University's medical budget dilemma.
A 2000 award honored the Division of Housing and Food Services Human Resources Office for recruitment and hiring initiatives undertaken to address a critical shortage of hourly service and food service employees.
A 1999 award recognized Purdue for developing the Information Systems and Technology Education Program. Human Resources created the program in cooperation with Management Information and the School of Technology.
