In line with the vision of the New Synergies 2008-2014 Purdue University Strategic Plan, HRS Staff Benefits and WorkLife Programs strive to provide services that enhance the quality of life in the workplace at Purdue and serve as an exemplar for an encouraging, nurturing, energizing, and supportive work and cultural environment for all faculty, staff, and students to excel in their pursuits. We work to adjust policies so as to enhance benefits toward a family friendly environment providing flexibilities for employees to enhance their quality of life while achieving their professional and personal goals.

If you are enrolled in one of the university sponsored health plans, there are several items to remember as you anticipate the new addition to your family. Planning ahead is important to ensure that you are on your preferred health plan at the time of birth, adoption, or foster care placement. Although you will be able to add your new family member to your existing health plan, you must do so within 30 days and you will not be able to change health plans until the next open enrollment period.
