Child Development Laboratory Preschool
The Child Development Laboratory Preschool, operated by The Department of Child Development & Family Studies, is a place where children can learn and develop through active involvement with their environment. Through this process children construct knowledge of the world that makes sense in terms they can understand. The child’s development of knowledge of the social world and strategies for interacting with peers and adults is an important part of learning during the early childhood years. The program provides child development practica and student teaching experiences for Purdue students, fulfills a need in the community for high quality early education and care, and offers a site for child development research to serve the learning, discovery, and engagement missions at Purdue. The center is open to children of faculty, staff, Purdue students, and the general public. The program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
