Eligible Employees

Faculty and staff qualifying under one of the following guidelines are eligible for benefit enrollment:

1. A tenured, tenure track, or clinical/professional faculty member employed half-time or more on a continuing basis for more than one year.

2. A visiting faculty member employed full-time for 6 months or longer. *

3. A continuing lecturer employed half-time or more on a continuing basis for more than one year.

4. A post doctoral research associate or assistant, or veterinary intern employed
full-time for a semester or longer. *

5. An administrative or professional staff member employed half-time or more on a continuing basis for more than one year.

6. A clerical or service staff member employed half-time or more on a continuing basis for more than one year.

* Staff in these position classifications are not eligible for retirement benefits.

The following categories are not eligible for benefit enrollment:

Students, graduate student and graduate administrative and professional staff, graduate and undergraduate student residence hall counselors and staff residents, temporary employees, fellowship appointees, limited term lecturers, military assistant instructors, visiting scholars, adjunct staff, associate staff, or affiliate staff.
