Continuing and Transfer Student Application

Requirements

To apply to the Honors College, students must have a cumulative 3.50 grade point average or higher at their current college or university and at least four semesters of study remaining at the Purdue West Lafayette campus before graduation. Students entering the Honors College must agree to complete the Honors College curriculum. The application is due by Sept. 5, 2014.

Honors Student Characteristics

Here are a few characteristics of Honors College students. If you share these, please consider applying to the Honors College:

  1. Intellectual Curiosity - Curiosity is the defining hallmark of the Honors College student.
  2. Research Potential - Students should have the potential for independent work and an interest in conducting research.
  3. Interdisciplinary Interest - Honors College have the desire and ability to work across fields and with peers in other areas.
  4. Diverse Community of Scholars - Our students are interested in living and working with people with different educational and cultural backgrounds.
  5. Leadership Potential - Honors College students assume leadership positions in both academic pursuits and extracurricular activities.
  6. Engagement - Our students are engaged with community partners, the academy, and their peers. They have a history of or interest in service and engagement activities.

Academic History & PUID

A pdf copy of your current transcript
Your Purdue ID number (PUID)
A list of scholarships granted to you by Purdue (if applicable)

Personal Statement

A personal statement that answers the following questions:
What are you passionate about and why?
What are your life goals and how will your Purdue degree help you accomplish them?

Plan of Study

A projected plan of study that shows how you will incorporate the Honors College curriculum into your remaining semesters.

IMPORTANT

These materials will assist in completing the application: the course requirements/plan of study for your major and a copy of the Honors College curriculum.

It is important to gather these things beforehand. It is not possible to save the application while it is in progress and finish it at a later time. You will be unable to make changes after the application has been submitted. You will need to sign in using your onePurdue career account.
