Dr. Emily Allen

Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

Emily Allen is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for Purdue's Honors College, a position that allows her to work with undergraduates from all over the university. Dr. Diane Facinelli

Assistant Dean for Global Affairs

Dr. Diane Facinelli was a faculty member in Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University from 1993 to 2014. She was the first recipient of ASU’s Faculty Achievement Award for Excellence in Student Mentoring and has been a finalist for the Professor of the Year Award. Read more

Catharine Patrone

Director of Student Services

Catharine Patrone completed her B.A. in communication and minors in women’s studies and human development and family science and M.A. in higher education and student affairs at Ohio State University. While in graduate school, she worked as a research consultant in the Student Support Office at Lancaster University in Lancaster, England during the summer of 2002. Prior to coming to Purdue University, Catharine served in the capacities of Graduate Associate and Program Coordinator at the University Honors & Scholars Center at Ohio State University.

Beth Jones

Honors Advisor

Beth Jones earned her bachelor of arts in electronic journalism and minor in music from Murray State University in Kentucky. She worked as a reporter and news director in public radio before teaching writing courses at the University of Freiburg in Germany and receiving her master of arts in Rhetoric and Composition from Purdue University. Previously, she worked with high ability students as a mentor for NPR's Next Generation Radio project and as a lecturer for the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue.

Rebecca Krylow

Honors Advisor

Rebecca Krylow received her B.A. and M.A. in Communication from the University of Delaware. Before joining the Honors College at Purdue in June 2014, she worked in Residence Life and spent two years supervising a residential complex that housed upper-division honors students. Outside of work Rebecca enjoys exploring West Lafayette with her husband and two sons.

Sashaun Wood

Programming Director

Sashaun Wood received her B.A. in communication and minors in business and family and human development and completed her M.Ed. in higher and postsecondary education at Arizona State University. As a part of her graduate research, she completed her practicum with a summer scholars initiative focused on programming for high ability students. Sashaun joined the Purdue Honors College following her work at Barrett, the Honors College where she held positions at both the ASU Tempe and ASU Downtown campuses.

Asia Thomas

Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Asia Thomas is an Indiana native from Gary. In 2013 she gained her B.A. in Visual Communications Design with a minor in History from Purdue University. During her undergraduate studies, she spent time as the Art Director of Sycamore Review, Purdue University’s internationally acclaimed literary journal. She also worked as the web designer for the Black Cultural Center while working as a graphic designer at Krannert School of Management at Purdue. Outside of work, she creates both web comics and graphic novels.

Sherry Hardebeck

Assistant to the Dean

Sherry Hardebeck graduated with her B.S. in Human Resource Development in 2007 from Indiana State University. She completed her M.S. in Career and Technical Education in 2009 also from Indiana State University. Before joining the Honors College, she worked at Purdue in the Physical Facilities Administration Department. As Assistant to the Dean, Sherry is responsible for the smooth management of the educational administration, public relations/outreach, and discovery-related roles of the Dean.

Tracy Hieatt

Administrative Assistant

Tracy performs general day to day office duties as well as serving as the schedule deputy for HONR courses. In addition, she assists the Student Services Director in the coordination of special events for students in the honors college including co-curricular activities.

Jamie Moffatt

Secretary

Jamie serves as the first point of contact for students and visitors of the Honors College. She grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana and lived in Lafayette for ten years. As the secretary for the Purdue Honors College, she works to ensure everything runs smoothly on a daily basis. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and her English Mastiff named Titan. She is simultaneously a soccer and dance mom.

National and International Scholarships Office
Dr. Rosanne Altstatt

Dean's Fellow

Rosanne Altstatt is Dean’s Fellow for National and International Scholarships. She was brought to Honors College from Purdue’s School of Visual and Performing Arts where she was Visiting Scholar. Rosanne has worked internationally as a curator, writer and the director of several art institutions that specialize in media art. She researched the media art institution in our information-filled atmosphere for her Ph.D. in Art and Media Studies from Carl-von-Ossietzky University, wrote about early video art for her M.A. in Art History from University of Cologne, and received a B.A. in Art History and English from University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Veronica Schirm

Director

Veronica Schirm graduated with her B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Spanish from Purdue University in 2000. She completed her M.S.Ed. in Counseling and Development with a specialization in Mental Health Counseling in 2003 also from Purdue. While in graduate school, she worked as a teaching assistant in the College of Education’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction and as a graduate assistant to the Learning Communities Coordinator. Through those experiences, she discovered her interest in academia and decided to pursue a university career rather than become a practicing therapist.

Martha Lucht

Secretary

Martha was born and raised in Matamoros Tamaulipas, México. She graduated with her B.S. in Accounting from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Monterrey, N.L. in México. She has experience as a Spanish limited term lecturer and administrative assistant.
