Students in the department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences organize and participate in a variety of student organizations that provide venues for students to support one another in their academic and extracurricular endeavors, and to further explore their common interests in different topics related to the speech, language and hearing sciences.

NSSLHA – the Purdue chapter of the National Student Speech, Language and Hearing Association is open to both undergraduate and graduate students interested in these fields. You need not be an SLHS major to be a member of NSSLHA. NSSLHA organizes a wide range of activities of interest to students in the major and in related fields, and also supports and participates in many events of importance to members of the greater Lafayette-West Lafayette community.  NSSLHA and PASO often work closely together, and many students are members of both organizations.

PASO – the Purdue Audiology Students Organization is open to both undergraduate and graduate students interested in the profession and scholarship of the field of Audiology.  PASO organizes a wide range of activities of interest to students studying Audiology, and also supports and participates in many events of importance to members of the greater Lafayette-West Lafayette community.  NSSLHA and PASO often work closely together, and many students are members of both organizations.

PLA – the Purdue Linguistics Association is an interdisciplinary student organization for all students interested in the study of language.  The PLA hosts a variety of social and academic activities throughout the year, including a yearly research symposium.
