Consistent with the goal of providing students with a well-rounded and comprehensive undergraduate education in the speech, languages and hearing sciences, SLHS majors must complete 18-31 credit hours of HHS and SLHS core requirements and 60 credits of required coursework in the major. See the Plan of Study for details. Note that many courses may satisfy both college core and major requirements, and thus students are typically free to take a variety of additional electives. Moreover, many college core courses and courses required for the SLHS major may count as core or elective courses for other majors such as psychology or linguistics. Thus, many students chose to complete a minor in one or more related areas while still graduating on time with a major in SLHS and, with careful planning, even a double major is quite manageable.
