Research Training Areas

Modern clinical approaches strive to be evidence-based, using treatments based on a strong foundation of scientific results. At Purdue, faculty and students make the discoveries that define cutting-edge clinical practice and advance basic scientific knowledge related to human communication. The fields of speech, language and hearing move forward by integrating the best ideas and methods from a vast array of research domains. We are engineers, linguists, neuroscientists, physiologists, psychologists and clinical specialists, and we invite you to explore what we do.

Ph.D. students in SLHS work together with multiple faculty members with compatible research interests, including colleagues from other departments.  Research typically falls within one or more of the following broadly defined areas:

Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences, Lyles-Porter Hall, 715 Clinic Drive, West Lafayette, IN 47907-2122, PH: (765) 494-3789
