David J. Ertmer

David J. Ertmer is a Professor in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He received a B.S. from Marquette University in 1973, a M. S. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1976, and a Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1994, all in the field of Communication Disorders. His clinical career includes 17 years as a school speech pathologist in Wisconsin and Colorado. He teaches courses in aural rehabilitation and conducts research in early speech and language development in young children who receive cochlear implants. He and his wife Peg, a professor in Learning Design and Technology in the College of Education at Purdue University, have four grown children.
