Minor in Psychological Sciences

If a major in Psychology doesn’t fit, consider earning a psychology minor. With 15 required credit hours, a minor in Psychology could help give you an extra advantage in the job market.

  1. PSY 12000 Elementary Psychology is required.
  2. Select one of the following courses:
    PSY 20000 Introduction to Cognitive Psychology
    PSY 22200 Introduction to Behavioral Neuroscience
  3. Select one of the following courses:
    PSY 23500 Child Psychology
    PSY 24000 Introduction to Social Psychology
    PSY 27200 Introduction to Industrial-Organizational Psychology
    PSY 35000 Abnormal Psychology
  4. Select two additional psychology courses. (Only one of the following courses may be used to fulfill this requirement: PSY 31900PSY 39000, and PSY 39100.)
  5. PSY 22000 (Brain and Behavior) cannot be used toward fulfillment of the minor requirements.
  6. A grade of "C-" or better must be earned in any course used to fulfill a minor requirement.
  7. All courses in Sections 2 and 3 require PSY 12000 as a prerequisite.
