Certification: Family Nurse Practitioner
I currently work in one of the School of Nursing affiliated clinics in Monon, Indiana. We serve a low income, rural population. About 50% of our clients are recent immigrants from Mexico and Central America. Many of our patients are uninsured. I am interested in the challenges this population faces in receiving the health care they need. Our clinic also serves as a site for undergraduate and graduate learning sites. It is important that our students are involved in the care of this marginalized population.
I have organized many study abroad trips to Latin America. Currently I am focusing on health and nutrition in Costa Rica.
