Purdue's Newest zipTrip Gets Kids Thinking About Health and Nutrition, Science and Science Careers
Registration is NOW open online for Purdue University's newest zipTrip for students in grades 6-8. 'The Science of Nutrition' will feature Purdue scientists researching nutrition, physical activity, and environmental concepts that impact kids' health. Get your students thinking about health and nutrition topics, science, and science careers, influencing their everyday lives now and in to the future.
A Purdue zipTrip is an electronic field trip. Let's face it. Kids love field trips. The chance to go places beyond their own classrooms and see for themselves how the world works. But not every destination is close enough for a day trip, and you may not have the time or resources to commit a full day to one field trip. That's where we come in. When you sign up to take your class on a Purdue zipTrip, the field trip comes to you!! There is NO cost to register.
'The Science of Nutrition' live show is scheduled for Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. EST/9:00 a.m. CST.
The program includes:
- Live show (45 minutes)
- Supporting classroom materials
- teacher's guide
- short videos featuring Purdue scientists discussing scientific inquiry and their work
- optional lesson plans and classroom activities
