Why pair an MPH with your PhD:

My research currently focuses on mental health promotion and social support among minorities and young people. Higher education in the field of public health is beneficial for me to gain a broad scope to explore the ways of enhancing social support at family, peer, community and social levels. A public health approach asserts that mental health is shaped not only by the individual but also by the context that individuals are situated, greatly strengthening my research on promotion of mental health and prevention of mental illness.

Why earning an MPH is important to you:

The Public Health Graduate Program provides me with a basic knowledge and skillset in various aspects of public health and I enjoy the courses that discuss public health from diverse perspectives. I have a genuine desire to become an outstanding professor in the area of mental heatlh, distributing my knowledge to numerous students and devoting my life to research. The experiences and skills I obtain throughout the Public Health Graduate Program can be applied to diverse public health settings in academia and industry.
